How a NAS100 lot works

NAS100 is quoted in index points, and what a point is worth depends on the product. Most CFD brokers pay $1 per point per 1 lot; some use $10 or $0.10. The calculator starts at $1 and lets you change it — check your broker's contract spec once.

On futures the numbers are fixed: the E-mini Nasdaq (NQ) is $20 per point per contract and the Micro (MNQ) is $2 per point. Enter 20 or 2 as the point value and the answer is in contracts.

Nasdaq stops are measured in tens of points, because the index moves hundreds in a session. A 40-point stop at 1% risk on $10,000 is 2.5 lots at $1 a point — but only 0.125 NQ contracts, which is why small accounts trade MNQ or CFDs.

Frequently asked questions

How much is 1 point on NAS100 worth?

On most CFD accounts $1 per point per 1 lot, but some brokers use $10 or $0.10 — it is on the contract spec. On futures, NQ is $20 a point and MNQ is $2 a point per contract.

What lot size should I use for NAS100 on a $10,000 account?

At 1% risk ($100) with a 40-point stop and $1 a point: 100 ÷ (40 × 1) = 2.5 lots. Halve the stop and the size doubles; the dollar risk stays $100.

Is US100 the same as NAS100?

Yes. US100, NAS100, USTEC and NDX are broker names for the same Nasdaq 100 index. Only the dollar-per-point can differ between brokers.
