At a glance
The short version
Most replay tools are slideshows: press play and the chart jumps forward one finished candle at a time. That is not what a market looks like, and it is not what you will be trading. CRTLAB's replay animates price inside each candle as it forms — the wick reaching, the body filling — paced to your monitor's refresh rate, so ten minutes of replay feels like ten minutes of a live chart compressed, not a flipbook.
Why it is smoother than other replay
It tracks, it does not snap. Each candle forms from the real lower-timeframe path, and the chart eases toward every new price instead of teleporting to it, frame-paced to 60, 120 or 144Hz — whatever your screen runs at. The same principle runs through the whole product: the price scale glides as the range changes, the synced second chart follows your chart on the same frame, the footprint view glides with the forming candle.
Nothing heavy runs unless you use it. Price data ships in a compact binary format, the chart is built to hold a steady frame rate on low-end laptops and slow Wi-Fi, and the second chart, footprint and volume profile cost nothing until you switch them on. It is a browser tab, not an install, and it behaves the same on a ten-year-old laptop as on a gaming PC.
Every way to move through time
Step one bar at a time; play at a chosen speed; hold Space to fast-forward and let go to stop exactly where you want; jump to any date. Multi-timeframe replay builds a higher-timeframe candle live from lower-timeframe data while you watch, so a 5-minute replay shows the 4-hour candle forming above it.
Trade while it plays: market and limit orders, stop-loss and take-profit, several positions at once, filled exactly when price reaches them, and every trade journalled into analytics — equity curve, win rate, profit factor, P&L calendar — automatically.
What is in the replay
Real historical data on 38 markets — US indices and the DAX, forex majors, gold, silver, oil, seven crypto pairs and 17 US stocks — from 1-minute to monthly. Economic news tagged at the minute it was released. Real volume with volume profile and a footprint. ICT and SMC overlays that never peek past the cursor. Prop firm mode with 99 firms' real rules. A second synced chart for SMT.
Frequently asked questions
What is market replay?
Market replay plays historical price data back as if it were live, so you can trade it bar by bar without knowing what comes next.
Do I need to install anything?
No. CRTLAB runs in any modern browser on any machine, and it is built to stay smooth on low-end laptops and slow connections.
Is market replay free?
CRTLAB is free to try. You get market replay on all 38 markets, with every tool the product has, for your first 10,000 candles of replay — roughly two hours of stepping through a chart, no card needed. After the sample, unlimited replay is $14.99 a month, cancel any time.
How is this different from TradingView bar replay?
CRTLAB animates price inside each candle instead of jumping a whole bar, replays two synced charts, tags historical news, enforces prop firm rules and journals every trade automatically — see the full comparison.
