Third-Party Services & Licences

Last updated: September 14, 2026

CRTLAB is built on market data, open-source software and a small number of services run by other companies. This page lists each of them, what they do for CRTLAB, and the notices their licences require.

1. Market data — Databento

Historical market data shown in CRTLAB is sourced from Databento, Inc. and the trading venues it redistributes, and is used under Databento's terms and conditions and the terms of those venues. It is provided for backtesting and practice only: it is not a live or real-time feed, it may be delayed, adjusted or incomplete, and it must not be relied on for trading decisions.

You may view and replay the data inside CRTLAB. You may not scrape, download in bulk, export, resell or redistribute it, in whole or in part, or use it to build a competing data product. These restrictions come from our data licence as well as our Terms of Service.

2. Charts — TradingView Lightweight Charts™

The charts in CRTLAB are powered by TradingView Lightweight Charts™, an open-source charting library. Copyright © TradingView, Inc. Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. TradingView is a charting platform and social network for traders; learn more at tradingview.com. CRTLABis not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TradingView, Inc., and "TradingView" and "Lightweight Charts" are trademarks of TradingView, Inc.

The drawing tools are built on the lightweight-charts-line-tools plugins, licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. CRTLAB applies small modifications to some of those files; the modified source files are available on request at crtlab@proton.me.

3. Services we use

These providers run parts of the Service. Where a provider handles personal data, it does so only to deliver that part of the Service — see our Privacy Policy.

  • Databento — Historical market data. Receives no personal data about you.
  • Stripe — Payment processing. Card details go to Stripe directly and never reach our servers.
  • Railway — Application hosting and the database that stores your account and saved work.
  • Cloudflare — Network delivery, DNS and protection against abuse.
  • Resend — Transactional email such as password resets and receipts.
  • Google — Optional "Sign in with Google", and the site icons shown beside service names in the app.
  • Discord — Optional "Sign in with Discord".
  • Trustpilot — Public reviews. Only used if you choose to leave one.
  • Flagpedia (flagcdn.com) — Country flag images on the leaderboard.

4. Open-source software

CRTLAB includes or depends on the following open-source software. Each remains under its own licence.

  • TradingView Lightweight Charts™ — Apache License 2.0. Copyright © TradingView, Inc..
  • lightweight-charts-line-tools (core, lines, rectangle, text, Fibonacci retracement, long/short position) — Mozilla Public License 2.0. © difurious.
  • Next.js — MIT. © Vercel, Inc..
  • React — MIT. © Meta Platforms, Inc. and affiliates.
  • Prisma — Apache License 2.0. © Prisma Data, Inc..
  • Recharts — MIT. © Recharts Group.
  • technicalindicators — MIT. © Anand Aravindan.
  • Lucide icons — ISC. © Lucide Contributors.

Full licence texts ship with each package and are available from the linked projects. Other transitive dependencies are used under their respective open-source licences.

5. Trademarks

Company names, logos and market symbols shown in CRTLAB — including exchange, index, broker and cryptocurrency names — belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify them. Their use does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of CRTLAB.
