The short version
OneUp Trader runs one evaluation program for futures traders. The headline one, 1-Step Evaluation, asks for a 6% profit target with a 5% intraday trailing max loss and no daily loss limit. This page puts every OneUp Trader rule set in one table, runs each through thousands of simulated challenges to show what the rules alone do to your odds, and opens a chart that enforces them candle by candle — so you can rehearse the OneUp Trader challenge on real historical data before you pay for one.

What the OneUp Trader rules do to your odds
The same trader passes one firm's challenge far more often than another's, and the difference is the rules, not the trader. To isolate it, each program below was run through the CRTLAB challenge simulator for three traders: a break-even one (50% wins at 1:1 — zero edge, so any pass is the rules' slack plus luck), a small edge (45% at 1:1.5) and a solid edge (45% at 1:2).
A break-even trader passes 1-Step Evaluation 33.2% of the time — that is luck alone, and it is the number to beat.
| Program | Break-even trader | Small edge | Solid edge |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1-Step Evaluation | 33.2% | 51.4% | 70.7% |
Simulated: $100k account, 1% risk per trade, 2 trades a day, 60 trading days or the program's own limit; multi-phase programs multiply each phase's pass rate. Min-day and consistency rules are not simulated. Run your own numbers in the prop firm challenge calculator.
The rule most likely to end a OneUp Trader attempt
On 1-Step Evaluation the target (6%) is 1.2× the 5% loss allowance — a middle-of-the-road shape. Neither rule dominates; an average edge at sensible risk passes more often than not.
The max loss trails intraday, including open profit: a trade that runs 5% in your favour and comes back to break-even has used your entire allowance without closing a loss. This is the rule that catches traders who let winners breathe, and it is the first thing to rehearse.
There is no daily loss limit in the evaluation, so the max loss is the only floor — one undisciplined day can use all of it.
You need at least 10 trading days before a phase can pass, so a single big day does not finish it.
In simulation, a trader with a small edge (45% wins at 1:1.5, 1% risk) fails 48.6% of phase-one attempts on the max loss; the ones who pass take a median of 7 trading days.
Rehearse the OneUp Trader challenge on a real chart
The button opens CRTLAB with prop firm mode running on OneUp Trader's 1-Step Evaluation rules. The chart's HUD carries your progress to target, the distance to the max loss and the daily floor, and it calls the verdict — passed, phase two, or breached — the moment a rule is hit, exactly as the firm's dashboard would. Every OneUp Trader program and account size is one click away in the rules panel, and so are the other 98 firms in the catalogue.
What makes it a rehearsal rather than a demo account: you replay real historical data, candle by candle, on any of 38 markets from 1-minute to weekly, and you can do in an evening what a live challenge takes a month to show you. Run the same week three times with three different risk sizes and watch which one the intraday trailing floor catches.
There is no account to fund and no time limit on practice — the replay waits for you. When your rehearsals pass consistently, you know the edge survives OneUp Trader's rules before the fee is spent.
