The short version
Paid To Trade runs 3 evaluation programs for forex and CFD traders. The headline one, 2-Step Static, asks for 10% then 5% across 2 phases with a 8% static max loss and a 4% daily loss limit. This page puts every Paid To Trade rule set in one table, runs each through thousands of simulated challenges to show what the rules alone do to your odds, and opens a chart that enforces them candle by candle — so you can rehearse the Paid To Trade challenge on real historical data before you pay for one.
Paid To Trade challenge rules, program by program
Rules as published on paidtotrade.net, checked 21 October 2026. Prop firms revise rules often — confirm on their site before you buy; the source for each program is in the fine print below. Account sizes offered: $5k, $10k, $20k, $25k, $40k, $50k, $80k, $100k.
What the Paid To Trade rules do to your odds
The same trader passes one firm's challenge far more often than another's, and the difference is the rules, not the trader. To isolate it, each program below was run through the CRTLAB challenge simulator for three traders: a break-even one (50% wins at 1:1 — zero edge, so any pass is the rules' slack plus luck), a small edge (45% at 1:1.5) and a solid edge (45% at 1:2).
Of Paid To Trade's 3 programs, 1-Step Trail leaves a break-even trader the most room (33.2% pass) and 2-Step Static the least (20.2%).
| Program | Break-even trader | Small edge | Solid edge |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2-Step Static | 20.2% | 61.2% | 87.9% |
| 1-Step Static | 31.7% | 66.8% | 87.2% |
| 1-Step Trail | 33.2% | 69.8% | 91.1% |
Simulated: $100k account, 1% risk per trade, 2 trades a day, 60 trading days or the program's own limit; multi-phase programs multiply each phase's pass rate. Min-day and consistency rules are not simulated. Run your own numbers in the prop firm challenge calculator.
The rule most likely to end a Paid To Trade attempt
On 2-Step Static the target (10%) is 1.3× the 8% loss allowance — a middle-of-the-road shape. Neither rule dominates; an average edge at sensible risk passes more often than not.
The max loss is static, measured from the starting balance — the most forgiving kind. Profit you bank widens your room rather than dragging the floor up behind you.
There is a 4% daily loss limit. With only 8% in total, two bad days are the whole account.
You need at least 4 trading days before a phase can pass, so a single big day does not finish it.
In simulation, a trader with a small edge (45% wins at 1:1.5, 1% risk) fails 21.2% of phase-one attempts on the max loss; the ones who pass take a median of 20 trading days.
Rehearse the Paid To Trade challenge on a real chart
The button opens CRTLAB with prop firm mode running on Paid To Trade's 2-Step Static rules. The chart's HUD carries your progress to target, the distance to the max loss and the daily floor, and it calls the verdict — passed, phase two, or breached — the moment a rule is hit, exactly as the firm's dashboard would. Every Paid To Trade program and account size is one click away in the rules panel, and so are the other 98 firms in the catalogue.
What makes it a rehearsal rather than a demo account: you replay real historical data, candle by candle, on any of 38 markets from 1-minute to weekly, and you can do in an evening what a live challenge takes a month to show you. Run the same week three times with three different risk sizes and watch which one the static floor catches.
There is no account to fund and no time limit on practice — the replay waits for you. When your rehearsals pass consistently, you know the edge survives Paid To Trade's rules before the fee is spent.
